Viksit Bharat Abhiyan team visited IHBAS, Delhi, to understand the functioning of mental health institutions and interacted with Dr.(Prof.) Rajindra K Dhamija (Director, IHBAS), and Dr.(Prof.) Om Prakash M.D. (Psychiatry).

Viksit Bharat Abhiyan 2047 team visited Inter-university accelerator centre (IUAC), India’s premier laboratory for University researchers which aims to provide necessary powerful tools used by scientists to understand the mysteries of matter, energy, space and time. The team is thankful to Prof. Avinash Chandra Pandey, Director, IUAC for a warm welcome and for briefing the team about the contributions and achievements of IUAC in the field of science and technology. The team is also grateful to Ms. K.S. Golda, nuclear scientist at IUAC, for showing around the facilities and describing the functioning of particle accelerator and other technologies of nuclear physics with real-life impact. 

• Visit to Shanti Avedna Sadan

Shanti Avedna Sadan is India’s first Hospice, an institution that takes care of the advanced terminally ill Cancer patients. Shanti Avedna Sadan literally translates to ‘Peace in the absence of pain’ and the organization aims to provide free palliative care to all, irrespective of community caste, creed or status. 

VBA team feels blessed to have visited Shanti Avedna Sadan located in New Delhi, as part of its mission-mode program, Viksit Bharat Abhiyan 2047. The visit made the team understand the importance of having such an institution, the policy support that such premier organizations are devoid of and the need for a Hospice Act.

• VBA team at Earth Saviours HQs

The Earth Saviours Foundation is a non-profit organization which is dedicated to community welfare, serving the underprivileged, old, abandoned and mentally & physically disabled people, providing a safe haven for mistreated animals, and making an effort to protect the environment. 

VBA team had the good fortune of visiting the foundation for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan 2047. The team spent some time with the people at the foundation and learnt about their struggles and challenges. The administration at Earth Saviours briefed the WIF team about the work that they are engaged in and how significant a role they play in providing services to the people.

Viksit Bharat Abhiyan 2047 team visited several Healthcare Institutions to understand the ground realities and know the struggles faced by a common person in availing healthcare services in India. We strongly believe that as part of a Developed India, healthcare services should be affordable and accessible to all the citizens of the country and Health Infrastructure should support the growing needs of the population.

Located at Hailey Road in Central Delhi, Dhobi Ghat stands out when visited during the wee hours of the morning. VBA team visited Dhobi Ghat and nearby areas of Minto Road as part of Viksit Bharat Abhiyan 2047. People with whom the team interacted stated the daily challenges faced by them and their vision of a Developed India. The team also visited the Anganwadi in the vicinity to talk to the Anganwadi workers and know the functioning of Anganwadis and the scope of improvements to raise healthy, educated children who will be the future of the Developed India.

Goonj is headquartered in New Delhi and envisions to grow as an idea across regions, economies and countries using urban discard as a tool to alleviate poverty and enhance the dignity of the underprivileged people of the world. VBA team interacted with the women working at the NGO’s Delhi facilities to understand the concerns that impact the citizens of India so as to come up with solutions to improve the standard of living of people and improve the government policies and processes.
